There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.

Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

it’s the same logic as the death of newspapers. instead of having expertly-curated content laid out for us to peruse, we’re the ones seeking out only what we know of/ want to consume.
Not to be Boomerish, but I do think one loss of the streaming age, is discovering older media through serendipity.

The only reason I know about Tom and Jerry, The Looney Tunes, or any of those older toons is because they aired at random while I was watching TV. Now you have to seek them out.

It’s the way Trump is doing exactly what liberals feared from his first admin… just eight years later.

but this time, Democrats are doing nothing and the public is just kind of shrugging its shoulders.

This is harrowing.

my 2026 midterms take that i do not think America is adequately ready for:

America will reward Trump handily and he’ll have a midterm performance that even outdoes 2022.

the Democratic silence, the broad approval/ median voter energy about DOGE etc. idk. i think Rs will do very well.
