I guess what I'm tryna say is stop telling educators what you think schools need to teach, and find a way to offer a class on that important life skill in your own community. Not everything needs to happen during the school day and we can't expect schools/teachers to do it all. It takes a village.

Increasingly, our public schools also have to address mental and emotional health, teach the next generation compassion and empathy, and help them be able to differentiate reality from AI.

And my whole dissertation was on joy in the classroom, so we have to make space for that. 💁🏽‍♀️

And we cant take it from math or science. Arts absolutely have to stay. Learning a second language should be a requirement for our students.

So what are we cutting to make room for all the things people say schools need to teach?

Can anyone tell me what we should take out to include all of these life skills that yall think schools should be accountable for?

I taught high school history and English and made the most of my 180 days so stay out of my discipline
