This opinion is *literally sponsored by Substack* who have partnered (read: $$$) with Bari Weiss to launch their enterprise platform.

For those playing along at home we are now at the: "Ok sure they're Nazi salutes - but that doesn't make them expressions of Nazism" stage of denial.

Again, it is not enough to throw up your hands and say "well every platform hosts Nazis."

Substack is not merely a hosting platform. They make editorial decisions when they pay people like Bari Weiss to launch media outlets.

They pay Nazis and have said they refuse to demonetize them. So... yeah.
One thing I’m seeing is people saying “I’m not leaving Substack just because there are people there I disagree with.”

Ok but Substack is PAYING those people to be there. They are paying Bari Weiss, for example.

It’s not like Wordpress which is just a host. Substack is making editorial decisions.

“Sometimes, seeing one simple wheatpasted message in day-to-day life creates a visceral connection and can have more impact than a thousand social media upvotes. Showing solidarity to the victims and targets of fascism and lifting their spirits is another crucial purpose of these physical messages.”

I am so sorry to see your show go. It had value, you have value, you are powerful, and I'm grateful for your voice. Wishing you some quiet, some peace, and when you're ready to make some joyful noise again, we'll be there. 💛

Octavia Butler being a time traveler or seer, will forever be a hill I'm willing to die on, because there's just no way. Parable of The Sower was published in 1993. Look at this date. #BlackBookSky #BookSky

Such a polite dog, daintily taking this offering as if it's a treat. Definitely appreciating the necessity of staying in the present with one's dog. It almost makes reality bearable.
