See, the thing is, SEO isn’t really all that complicated. But there’s an entire industry built around making you think it is. Why? Because confused people are easier to sell to.

I'm launching something new for copywriters who are sick of competing with AI.
It's called Ascend.
It's a 6-month programme that teaches you how to offer proper SEO services - not just "I can put keywords in titles and headers."
SEO Mentoring For Copywriters - Are You Ready To Ascend?
AI is eating your lunch. Your clients think ChatGPT can replace you. You're competing on price. The Ascend Programme is here to change all of that.

Today I'm telling you why I'm tired, why you're probably tired too, and why that exhaustion might be the only thing keeping this industry from turning into a complete dumpster fire.

Fed up with watching charlatans and self-proclaimed “AI SEO gurus” rake in cash and followers by selling absolute bollocks? Yeah, me too. This is ...

Google’s spam policies target anything designed to deceive users or manipulate search rankings. The key thing to understand is they’re specifically going after manipulation, not legitimate businesses following best practice SEO and doing things properly.

If you're using a cloud provider to host images / videos / other content, you can and should verify the host in Search Console, so that you're aware of potential issues that affect Google's crawling & indexing, & Safe Browsing. Use a DNS CNAME to the bucket, then verify with DNS. More: (1/n)

Things that can catch out website owners who think they’re being clever about SEO:

Using AI tools to create 100s of location-based pages
Buying fake reviews/working with services that promise to “boost your review count”
Hiring SEO “experts” who guarantee quick results through automated techniques

"RIP all of traditional SEO.

We’re now getting more clicks from LLMs than Google."

No, no you're not.

"I ran an analysis on 1,832 keyword rankings across multiple AI platforms. The results will shock traditional SEO consultants:"

Your website isn’t a CV. It’s not a company brochure. It’s a sales tool. And sales tools need to connect features to benefits in a way that makes people think “yes, that’s exactly what I need.”

Look at your homepage, your service pages, your about page. Read each sentence and ask “so what?”

If you can’t immediately explain why that information matters to your potential client, delete it or rewrite it.
November 5, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Internet users have evolved into an army of no-attention-span frantic back-clickers. When they get to your site it’s only a couple of clicks or swipes back and they have instant access to your competitors.

And if your competitors are answering “so what?” better than you are, you’re missing out

Your potential clients don’t care about your company history, your team size, or your fancy office. They care about whether you can solve their problem. And if your website doesn’t make that connection immediately, they’re gone.

“Empowering organisational growth via seamless integration of next-generation business intelligence platforms.”

Huh?

Business jargon that sounds impressive but means nothing will send visitors straight to your competitors who can explain themselves clearly.

“Welcome to ABC Consulting Ltd - Established 1998”

Zzzzz… Nobody cares about your company name or when you started. They want to know if you can solve their problem. Leading with your company credentials instead of what you do for clients is backwards.

“We’re a forward-thinking consultancy providing innovative solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.”

Awesome! Are you management consultants? IT support?  Nobody has a clue. Vague mission statements that could describe any business in any industry tell visitors absolutely bugger all

Frequency doesn't matter if you're answering questions nobody's asking. One blog post per quarter that serves buyer intent will bring in more business than fifty posts about industry trends.

Educational content has its place, but if that’s all you’re creating, you’re positioning yourself as a free resource, not a service provider worth paying.
November 3, 2025 at 2:30 PM
You write a detailed guide about solving a problem your service solves. It ranks well. People love it. But nobody books a call.

That’s because you’ve just taught them how to do it themselves.
