I’m curious, what would people here consider “ground breaking” modern literature and what that would entail? Is it the subject? Is it the quality of writing? Does being an “easy” read automatically disqualify a book from being high literature? Is genre fiction an automatic disqualification? 🧐

I saw a tragically AI-generated version of this poster, so I have recreated a 100% human-made version for all your protest sign needs.

The important part is the "&udm14"-flag at the end of the address bar search url (there's also udm56 which simllifies things even further).

I don't really know safari that well, but there seem to be some user made extensions at least. You can check the addendums here:

Forget AI. Google just created a version of its search engine free of the extra junk it has added over the past decade-plus. You just need one URL parameter.

I just recently set up #OpenTelemetry in a personal #rustlang project I'm working on with @nikawritesthings.bsky.social . It's wildly cool, showing latency at the function level in a running application and even log messages that were emitted along the way! It wasn't hard to set up either

"[S]omeone said, What is artificial intelligence? And someone else said, A poor choice of words in 1954... And, you know, they're right."

So if he had to invent a term, what would it be? His answer is instant: applied statistics.

My husband is reading a really interesting book about activist burn out, and basically every chapter that looks at specific historical activists shows that being unable to acknowledge even minor victories leads to burn out and depression.
I think some people are afraid of good news because they think it inevitably leads to complacency. like any hint of good must mean there is no need for Better. but…endless bad news doesn’t lead to Better either. it leads to exhaustion.

I can't be the only one who thinks that there's been a huge quality dip in apps/websites. It's probably due to replacing engineers with AI but it's also probably due to not paying for actual QA testing.
