Also, it stretches the definition of a game a little, it's cable TV from another planet. I watch it while I work on things

Main reason for the joke is to bait people into getting Blippo+ to learn the reference

(That said, I do feel like a Metroid game should be more like Bushwalker than Confetti Cowboys though.)

though Windows has been super stable for me the last decade, the operating system deciding to do things I didn't ask for is the main reason I'm phasing it out

Though in my case, I've definitely had more issues on Linux with audio stability/support

at least I've never had it secretly turn on audio enhancements, so I mixed a song completely wrong and lost hours fixing it. I was so upset

I love Psychonauts 2, but they gave every wrong combination in a puzzle its own unique character building dialogue. I spotted the right solution fast but wanted to try all wrong ones first on purpose

The game wouldn't stop trying to help me

It sounds awesome! I should give it a try!
November 14, 2025 at 12:33 PM
That's amazing! Problem is, I don't understand the website X)

Nice!

I definitely have a fascination with Goto. I don't end up needing them very often (8 times in a project isn't a lot), but when it comes up, all alternative solutions I can think of are less readable

It's very weird how they evoke such strong negative feelings for many.

I think around half of my Goto uses in C# are switch fallthroughs

I find it super useful!

But yeah, I find gotos incredibly readable when I stick to the rule "always jump down, always jump out of scope, never into one". The overall dislike of them isn't warranted at all

To me, syntax highlighting is about making important information stand out the most. That makes it wild most IDEs don't have a way to indicate early returns visibly
November 14, 2025 at 3:07 AM
I like early returns too, but I wish I could make the IDE syntax highlight those specifically. It'd probably catch 99% of every time I use them wrong, if I just see them very easily
November 14, 2025 at 3:06 AM
I have that exact one \o/ I've made so many bleeps and bloops with it
November 14, 2025 at 1:39 AM
Absolutely!

Assembly victories are 100% permitted in this competition
November 14, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Yeah :) That's my main use of goto
November 14, 2025 at 12:03 AM
You're the winner so far \o/

Mine are mostly switch statement logic and breaking doing a "continue" an extra level up
November 14, 2025 at 12:03 AM
To me it's just rule of cool, so I never questioned it. Especially when could also make a good game mechanic :)
November 13, 2025 at 12:08 PM
I'd easily play that!
