Also if you publish your story, congratulations! Please don't run it down when you share it with the world. Don't waste a sentence in a post saying you wish it was better. Tell us you're excited, you're proud of some part of it, or it contains some theme you can't get out of your head.
If someone attaches a story with an email apologising for the story not being good enough in advance, it also affects how I read. My mum used to do this- spend hours cooking an amazing meal, only to run it down when she put it on the table. You don't need to run yourself down in advance 🖤
