I was a medic at the Santa Ana protests in OC today.
I watched police fire tear gas, flash bangs, & rubber bullets into crowds of men, women, & children.
Other medics and I were clearly marked with red crosses, and the police were targeting us.
One of the most fucked up things I’ve ever seen.

Trump’s trump card is deporting Musk—but the law is likely not on his side, it’d be wildly unpopular, and I think that even as much as he and Bannon would like to go there, they ultimately wouldn’t. It’d reveal their whole immigration policy as a _farce_. So it’s an empty threat.

Average US refugee processing is somewhere around two years, I think. A lot of that is the background checks Republicans routinely demand can never be thorough enough. But these people are coming Sunday based on something that wasn't even announced until _this past February_.
The Trump administration has ended refugee resettlement from war-torn regions where people are in horrific scenarios, and has cut off support mandated by law to those resettled in the last year — and now they’re chartering a jet to fly White South Africans here as “refugees.”
