Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

I am just back from a few days in England to celebrate my mother’s 100 birthday (more of that later). I haven’t lived in England since the last century, and not visited often. How third world it seems. No working infrastructure, potholes, litter, graffiti, poor architecture. So depressing.

I am currently obsessing about paper handkerchiefs (PH)! How many tons are used per year? Should we revert to cotton handkerchiefs (CH)? It’s only a small move, but it could be another small step towards saving the planet.

My thoughts are always with our friends in Kiev ( and also other places in the world where there are conflicts).My friend sent me this video of music ( I don’t know what) being played the day after a severe missile attack. It has such a mixture of tension and determination, as well as other emotions
