People forget how weird the first Avengers was. In his first two films Iron Man had only ever dealt with other iron men, robots, and terrorists. Basically only “realish” stuff. Then seeing him with a big green monster and the literal god of thunder was so bizarre that it was legit exciting and cool.
I really think (besides maybe taking at least 5 years off) the only way for them to come back is that everything after Secret Wars has to look and feel completely different than how they’ve ever made stuff. The color grading, editing, tone, story structure, camera work. Everything.
