Goodnight Universe, from @nicedreamgames.com, is a treat: funny, beautifully observed, gently profound. And by frequently tasking you to close your eyes, it is a rare video game that soothes rather than scorches the retinas.

Goodnight Universe continues to express its creators’ obsession with lost time first explored in Before Your Eyes. It’s weirder, but similarly moving and well worth seeing it through.

Goodnight Universe Review - The Before Your Eyes Team Does It Again
Goodnight Universe is beautiful and heartwrenching, just like its developer's previous effort.

We're saying goodbye to six wonderful folks on our team this week at @outerloopgames.bsky.social They've been part of the team for years and unfortunately we got hit with some unexpected US tax changes, a port cancellation, and new project pitches that are going slow. It's a rough year.

Today's reco: "Consume Me", which won the IGF grand prize.
Everything in the game reinforces the concept. Mini games are really simple but make you feel in character. Brilliantly written. Great music mood. Extremely fun and well presented. 👍👍👍

if you enjoy the playful surreal-mundane vibes of Keita Takahashi (Katamari, NobiNobi etc), you can get a bit of a fix from Henry Halfhead, a strange little experience that's genuinely joyful but also a touch philosophical, about the purpose of play and curiosity. highly recommend.
