This little guy wasn’t too happy about being dug up from his cosy mud bed on our allotment plot. He cheered up after a nice wash. Turn that frown upside down fella!

On this bleakest of November days we’ve just been to our allotment plot to dig/pick the very last of our produce. We grate the apples and add them to overnight oats. The potatoes are for tonight, veggie bangers and mash. The chillies are mindbendingley hot so I’ll use them sparingly in a chillie 👍🏻🌞

After two years of searching for new influences/new direction I find myself repeatedly drawn back to the work of my childhood illustration hero…Raymond Briggs. This is the living room of his house in Sussex. I’m heading down that way soon but I doubt I’ll have time to pay my respects at his grave 😔

I’m just slipping on my new boots & popping out to get a paper.

(They’re not really mine, these belonged to David Bowie from his Glass Spider days but I reckon he went to Asda in them sometimes. From the V&A Storehouse exhibition.)

Got these on the wall, the first frames aren't perfect for the print, but I wanted it in our pink entryway so they'll do for now. And it's apparently incredibly hard to take a good pic of the staircase "gallery" 😅 I love the prints💕 thanks again, @nicktankard.bsky.social !

I’ve just watched this film for the first time and I already know that it’s going into my lifetime top ten. I know I’ll watch it many more times and never tire of it. It’s right there in the title 😍

At the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum, Van Gogh painted from memory and imagination—fields, stars, and wind.
From his bedroom window came The Starry Night (June 1889): turbulence turned to vision, the sky alive with motion and faith.

It's around this time of year I rewatch this stunning short about the photographer Alexandra de Steiguer and her time at the Oceanic Hotel, New England. A study in solitude, stillness and enduring.

A beautiful 14min video depicting the photographer, Alexandra de Steiguer, also caretaker for the Oceanic Hotel, who's spent past 19+ winters alone tending to the 43-acre grounds of the hotel, which sits 10 miles off the coast of New England.

A rich vein of Folk Horror ran all the way through WORZEL GUMMIDGE (1979). And one of its most horrific characters was Worzel's own creation: Dafthead!

I’m away from home at the moment as I’m dog sitting, lovely views here so that’s helping me to push on with new work, the change of location is doing me some good (when I’m not being commanded & instructed by my furry overlord).

I dreamt I met Robert Smith of The Cure last night. He wasn’t in his Robert Smith uniform of make up and hair dragged through a bush and I was the only person who recognised him for which he gave me a conspiratorial nod. Weird brain 🙄

I’m actually making work at the moment! 🤯🥳 I won’t post it just yet because it could disintegrate at any moment and it’s also a commission for a friend but blimey…considering it’s been almost two years since I produced any work it’s going quite well! ✊🏼🙂✊🏼 A nice way to ease myself back in to it.
