Remember how Americans used to wonder how in the world Germans in the 1930s could let their country be taken over by a hateful, violent Nazi regime?

Now they’re showing just how easy it is to do.

The @nytimes.com is a complete disaster.

This pathetic little piece of unserious speculation gets alternately called “analysis” and “reporting.”

Mike Johnson needs to provide a reason why anyone should respect ICE agents.

They are carrying out an illegal arrest quota of 3K “immigrants” per day.

They are deporting people in violation of a Supreme Court ruling.

They have deported American citizens.
MIKE JOHNSON: From the people who mandated mask wearing for years, it's absurd. They need to back off ICE & respect our agents

Q: So you're ok w/agents not identifying themselves when they're arresting migrants?

J: Why, so they can target them? So they can put names and faces online and dox them?

Let’s get this straight.

Mike Johnson is FOR the extra-judicial daily arrest quotas of 3,000 immigrants by unidentified federal agents—

But AGAINST a federal mandate to wear masks in public during a global pandemic that killed 600,000 Americans.

It’s “deeply troubling” b/c the House or Senate should never begin the day with a prayer from ANY religion.

The Separation of Church and State is a foundational element of the Constitution and established our secular government.

Freedom of Religion also means Freedom FROM Religion.

Great @mjtoma.bsky.social piece on Trump-Musk:

Can we get the @nytimes.com to re-interview that “undecided” halfwit voter who thought all the allegations about Trump being a fascist were — quote — “CHILDISH.”

Let’s ask her about Trump deporting people without due
process and refusing to obey Supreme Court orders.

All of this because Trump wants to set some record for deportations. Ironically if he had left DHS intact they would have deported many, many more people by now and Dem’s couldn’t have done anything about it because it would have been done legally.
Everyone should watch @repyassansari.bsky.social speaking truths about Abrego Garcia to Laura Ingraham last night. She told Fox viewers *five times* that Trump is defying SCOTUS and that his renditions are illegal/authoritarian, which they never hear.

The most notable fact about US politics at the moment is one that, for reasons of politesse, almost no one is allowed to say out loud, namely: the Republican Party has gathered to itself all the biggest losers and assholes in America. That's the real "sorting" -- all the worst people, clustered.

Biden made two MASSIVE mistakes that led us here.

But most voters have no idea what they were.

NOT RE-ELECTING Trump was the obvious, necessary thing to do.

Too many Americans do not accept the grave responsibility of an informed vote — unclouded by personal animus, bias or partisan dogma.
The real issue is not “What are Democrats are willing to fight for?”

The real issue is —

What are *Americans* willing to fight for?

It’s time for voters to accept responsibility of their actions.

It’s time for voters to fight and inspire their political leaders.

A note on JD Vance's repulsive response to the deportation of a Salvadoran in "error": The whole point of his stunt is to show that Trump feels free to remove people even when the law *doesn't* justify it.

I spoke to the man's lawyer. Absolutely hair raising stuff:

The Lawlessness Is the Point
The Trump administration just admitted that a Salvadoran man was deported in error. Shockingly, Trump and JD Vance don't seem to want to fix their mistake—and the implications of that are dark.

Curious.

If Joe Biden had come out and told Americans that a recession was “necessary” to rebuild the U.S. economy — who would have bought that?

What would the media have said? How would the markets have reacted?
