Reading this one right now and I have to say, quite good so far. But I've always been a sucker for a good steampunk.

Wander on over to @Grimdark_Mag and gaze upon the cover of DOGGED, a standalone novel set in the world of the Obsidian Path.

DOGGED takes place about 3,000 years before the events of BLACK STONE HEART.

I know a lot of people who don't like to read and by no means do I judge them for it. To each their own is what I say.

But man, just personally, I couldn't even begin to fathom an existence without books.

Thanks to the wonderful @nickborrelli.bsky.social having me think about Frank Herbert I wanted to share about my favorite Non Dune book by FH: THE GODMAKERS

A standalone that builds on concepts from some of his short stories, the title does kind of give away the concept, but it’s a neat read.

I have a new #BookReview today for THE WHITE OCTOPUS HOTEL by Alexandra Bell, which I adored! 📚💙

It’s “a steady, somewhat slow-moving stream of magical realism, star-crossed love, time travel, and reflection on grief and trauma.”

My wife and I had a great time at tonight's Halloween party.

But to be quite honest, we could have used some more cowbell.

Rereading one of my favorite horror books of all-time - MIDNIGHT (1989) by Dean Koontz. It's perfect reading for this time of year. Koontz has always had a hit or miss catalog for me but this one is a sure fire banger of a horror novel. Still great after all these years.

Question:

I only read the first two Dune novels, Dune and Dune Messiah.

Are the others worth reading or do they kind of suck?

People don't talk nearly enough about the acting job Paul Reiser did in ALIENS. You really hate him throughout the entire film and forget he's a comedian.
