Food, beer, unsuccessful sports teams, even less successful political movements. Giving a shit since 1969, and paying the price for it in depression, anxiety and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
I haven't had the chance to try it yet since the relaunch. Do we think there's an appreciable amount of live yeast in those barrels? As a publican I feel increasing numbers of breweries are shipping beer that is almost 'bright' like they don't trust the pubs to condition it any more.

Oh, Libby, that's awful. I'm sorry for you and the whole of Whitstable. Fucking knuckle dragging scum.

I for one welcome our new five-year-old overlords.
Honestly they can't do any worse than the old farts who've been doing it up until now.

I really want to feel sympathy for her, she's a parent who had to be told her child had been murdered and that's an unimaginable horror. But she's making it impossible to feel anything but revulsion.

Your post appeared on my discover tab despite me not living anywhere near Chicago. However, I'll take the opportunity to ask whether you might look into the stuff about ICE detainees and neuralink. I really want it to be a trash conspiracy theory, but I fear it's real.

That hasn't mattered with several of the fabricated claims he has made in the USA. Media institutions cave out of court even though they would win, because politics matters more than the legal outcome. Whether the BBC would follow suit I do not know, but I'm worried it might.

Because they used the issue as a loyalty test for the backbench labour MPs, manufactured an internal dispute over it just to be able to impose party discipline, and now they're reversing their position because it's politically expedient. That behaviour is self-destructive and deserves criticism.

But last year she did think a child should be penalised in that situation? So much so that she furthermore thought that other Labour MPs who held her current position should be whipped into line in favour of the position she no longer holds? Does she have any insight at all?

Spreading false hope that giving in to proto-fascist bullies is good for our national broadcaster because it provides a chance for reflection is asinine. What possible mechanism could lead from "giving in to the far right" to "an improvement in editorial standards"?

If it results in unicorns and rainbows I'd be delighted, but since there is zero chance of that happening, I'm not fooling myself or anyone else into expecting it. It will result in the BBC becoming more like GB News desperate to get the bullies to stop stealing its lunch money (the license fee).

... Which explains entirely why Ed Davey is going to fall on his schadenfreude over this. You think the BBC capitulating to a right wing witch hunt is going to be good for liberal democracy?
a man in a suit and tie is sitting in a red chair with the words fate it seems is not without a sense irony
Alt: Morpheus from the matrix film, sitting in a red chair looking very superior, with the words "fate it seems is not without a sense irony".

Probably easier for you than for the chicken. Oh. I see what you meant. Never mind.

Honestly that's the cleverest bit of journalism anyone at NaziNews had ever managed. You were looking at the ceremony from relatively high up. The headline writer must have orgasmed when they realised they could use the word "overlooked". And all their readers will assume that means you didn't go.

In what sense is the "freedom" fought for against the Nazis in the second world war "now being lost" (other than in the twin victories of the right, who makes this complaint: Brexit reducing freedom of movement and the Trump regime in the USA brutalising immigrants and other unwanteds)?

That cannot be a real name. It's just too perfect. They might as well be called "Rightwing Shitcunt".

I only just now saw this post, and wanted you to know that for our family, and I'm sure many others, your career is far from "being destroyed". You have a life's work of bringing joy, clarity, positivity and humanity into the lives of so many people. It may not be fashionable, but you're essential.
