Even David Duke is watching this saying:
There is literally a storyline in The Wire where a drug gang withholds wages from their street dealers to smoke out disloyal employees by seeing who starts complaining. This is organised crime thinking.
Trump: "'We can't make it. We can't.' You know, a lot of people who showed up also had a second job. They took a second job temporarily. But they all know the money's coming, and the money was coming. So I want to reward the people who showed up without a lot of nonsense, without a lot of talk."

There used to be a show on BBC2 where a panel of people would crisis-manage a fake emergency like a natural disaster or a terrorist attack. It was amazing. Anyone applying for the DG job who promised to bring that back would have my vote.

Rather than cute photos of kittens, some photos from the journey to the cat shelter today. As always, donations welcome.

I wouldn't even say this out loud to somebody who warranted it.
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."

Somebody should do a follow-up question to one of those films Musk is pretending to have watched to prove he has a personality - "Isn't it mad when the kangaroo shows up?" - just to see if he takes the bait.

"I think I can get Elvis to climb out of my arse by playing this flute and if the flute doesn't work, I think people will know who to blame."
Shaheen: "I think we can get a bipartisan bill out of the Senate that will address this [healthcare] issue. And if not, we know that the voters are going to know who's on their side and who's going to hold them accountable."

Hard to say it without sounding insensitive but while victims of crime & their families should be listened to, it doesn't necessarily mean they're now experts in how that crime occurred or should be punished.
Eg. Should you have your elbows broken for throwing stones at cats? No. At *my* cats? Yes

FB Memories has reminded me of the time I saw a tree surgeon poster that could equally be an advert for a dominatrix.
'Fully insured' is reassuring, certainly.

This (lord help us) 37 year old sketch about perceived BBC bias from the peerless Saturday Night Fry. Contains a phrase I still use to this day:
"I'm going to take issue with everything you just said & I'm going to start taking issue...now."

Just watched 'Focus' because I make poor life decisions.
I don't know how films just disappear. It's only a decade old, has leads with the star power of Will Smith & Margot Robbie (whom I love & would watch read out a phone book), a 50m dollar budget, it's perfectly fine & I've *never heard of it*.

He'd be worried that this has shades of Ceaușescu if he could spell, pronounce or had ever heard of Ceaușescu.

His team has already taken to social media to gloat about the fact they got the head of an overseas national broadcaster fired. The fact he happens to be somebody you don't like should make no difference.
The right thing can happen for the wrong reason. Fear of a dictator like Trump shouldn't be enough to make stuff like this just happen. Davie should've been booted out long ago but

This is like one of those threads where whenever somebody goes home to visit their parents they add one item to the decor - a framed photo of Bea Arthur or whatever - and wait to see how long it takes before anybody notices.

You know, one way to avoid being accused of editing a Trump interview in a way that litigously displeases him like a mad tribal king whose crops have just failed is to just stop interviewing the rambling old turd.
