Remember in 2000 when Stephen King tried to jumpstart the mainstreaming of e-books by first publishing "Riding the Bullet" digitally? Or how about in 2010 when Amazon removed all the "buy" buttons on Macmillan books because Macmillan wanted to set their own e-book prices themselves? (3/6)

...actively rescued the long out-of-print backlist of many sf/f/h authors by forming one of the very first e-book publishers in 1999, long before the Kindle was even a gleam in Jeff Bezos's eye. (2/6)
