Yeah, I'm still very pissed off about the SAT denying my kid an accommodation because the neurologist recommendation wasn't good enough for them, they wanted raw test results to analyze themselves and determine if extra time was acceptable.
Fuck them, fuck all of that.

And also, yes, there should be room for LOTS of variety in the MtG book world - if they want a robust set of books to help showcase the worldbuilding, they should include a lot of genres in the books! YA romantasy seems like it would be a great fit in the portfolio, honestly.

What a really weird comment all around. That blurb really just reads to me as "main character has a love interest." I never read the early MtG novels, but if at least one of, say, the first 5 books doesn't have a love interest, I'll eat one of those books.

The whole Campbell's situation is batshit. Some exec gets recorded going on a racist rant about his employees and also hates the customers, and somehow HR manages to do nothing at all and lets them fire the guy who raised the complaint? HR has one job here, don't let them retaliate fire the dude.

Reading this guy's last threads on the matter is horrifying, not because of the homebuilding but because it sounds like he's neck deep in some LLM-supplied fantasy land.

Yup. LLMs aren't trained to be correct, they are trained to sound plausible. So they're getting better at it, which is nice from a machine learning academic standpoint? But it's awful that they're actually in use in society. Let them be an academic curiosity and nothing more.
