am i alone in thinking the style of Great British Bake Off has changed in later seasons to have so many abrupt cuts that it’s hard to watch? i don’t know the technical term but i mean switching cameras every 0.75 seconds. it’s no longer calming. i’m getting dizzy

I’ve played with LLMs a fair amount and noticed something that these studies that show using LLMs degrading intellectual performance may not be picking up: What if having pretty good critical thinking skills makes LLMs less appealing/satisfying to use in the first place?

been reading “beezus and ramona” to my very ramonaesque 5 year old and i’ve never had him so captivated by a book, it’s really magical. we read a lot and he reads on his own but this book is really speaking to him in a fun way.

“Dunkin’ Donuts” was already too casual of a name. the rebrand to simply DUNKIN’ is an acceptance of an overly informal, degraded and stupid culture. it unrightfully co-opts the informal nickname given to it by the People and in so doing, lowers itself pretentiously. also the donuts aren’t even good

just found out that although i have been overpaying my car payments (intentionally) but that the extra payments don’t reduce the principle, they just pre-pay the usual balance due, in advance. am i an idiot or is this typical?
