FYI, by RAW, 2024 #dnd has now made it a definite rule that a Lightning Bolt spell can affect two side by side rows of squares on the grid, due to all AoE's starting points being a corner of a square.

The maps are 17x22, which is enough space for common skirmishes and ramdom battles. They are labeled so they are easy to find in the box and include a booklet with pictures for quick reference.

The case is sturdy, really well crafted with a magnetic lid. The battlemaps are equally sturdy, not as strong as a flip-mat, but close. And coated with material to allow dry erase use.

This product is one of the best #rpg purchases I've made in a long time. For $80, I got 99 battlemaps, a carrying case, a regional world map, and a one shot adventure.

I had Sound Board Studio running on my ipad, downloaded SW ambiance sounds off youtube as MP3s, ran them at the same time as music and played them through my little Bose bluetooth speaker. It really added to the mood, along with my images running on the TV we use.

So I am building my players a surprise physical prop, their own ship for an upcoming SW campaign I'm gonna run. It's a mix of 3d printed parts, old Kenner parts, and foam core.

For sure my alternate history Star Wars campaign set after the collapse of the Rebellion at Yavin and the death of Luke, Han, and Leia is the next thing I am running. I am too excited about it for it not to be.
