okay, this lends credence to the evaporation theory

the tealights i burn in this jar are almost always the white ones which glow under UV

the sand does not glow under UV

see those whiter flecks? this is in front of a UV light

is it paraffin evaporating from the tealights and condensing on the glass somehow??

i crumbled half of the big lump back into the jar so we'll see what this does if anything

i'm wondering if it's moisture somehow but three tealights should be evaporating any moisture and drying out the immediate area as we've just seen

the white sand seems like a binding element almost
