Actually! Roman dice towers were a thing!! They were used as anti-cheating devices on dice games, and some had bells at the lower hole for dramatic effect!
Vettweiss-Froitzheim Dice Tower. Dice tower (Turricula) used in the playing of dice games. 4th century AD. It is a hollow, vertical cuboid made of copper alloy, designed to stand level on a flat surface. The top of the dice tower is open to allow the insertion of dice and contains three levels of protruding baffles that would cause the dice to move randomly as they fall through the tower. It bears two Latin inscriptions. The longer inscription commemorates a military defeat of the Picts. The shorter inscription wishes good luck to the anonymous recipients of the object.
