When I think Discworld quotes, this one always immediately pops into my head.
I was telling my wife the other day that you hire GDs not because they can use the software, but because they can best avoid "cliche" design elements and should make something stand out.
This isn't "bad" (kerning aside), just mid.
I don't know what I would do different other than "everything".

The island was basically a mini-utopia. People running away from war, finding a nice place to just be at peace and focus on art and philosophy.
The king just wanted an army for himself.
