It sucks. Plain and simple.

But now I think, what can I do?

I can fight in my city for the changes I want to see.
I can help those who have much more to be fearful of than I.

Election Day isn't the be all, end all for change. It can't be. Each of us has to work to get there.

Now more than ever.
Honestly, this is pretty silly looking type. Too angled, very exaggerated lines, gold on the cream wall is a little bland.

It doesn't read stately, it reads "And tonight's winner for best in show" in 1993.
The font would appear to be English 111 Adagio CE, available for the highly presidential sum of just $39.75 USD

Note "The" is not kerned correctly

(see perspective-corrected still for reference)

Just saw Jeffrey White's "pig/slop" post show up in a pokemon discussion, so I'll just call it now:

That post is nothing but pure condescension. It's corrosive poison for communities.

It is truly disappointing to see it spread, even a little.

He wasn't misunderstood.
He was being toxic.

MY QUEEN!!!!
it's not enough just to win - you have to actually show people you can do the things you say you will, which means putting talented and competent people in charge of things

this is a damn good start

It’s almost like if people tell you that to win you have to turn your back on poor people, or Muslims, or trans people, or immigrants, you can just say, “no, that’s immoral, we’re not doing that,” and keep doing good old fashioned organizing and campaigning and things will be ok

This is Trump's pick-up line.
Donald Trump just now posts a full-throated endorsement of Andrew Cuomo on TruthSocial: "Whether you personally like Andrew Cuomo or not, you really have no choice. You must vote for him, and hope he does a fantastic job."

by any conceivable measure SNAP is one of the best programs we have, keeps countless people from food insecurity, and every dollar spent goes back into the community 1.5 times over

if you’re policing what people spend it on because they don’t “deserve” joy you’re a shitty excuse for a human being
“Oh poor people can buy popsicles with food stamps” shut the fuck up the government gives perverts a trillion dollars in government money each year for pervert factories for billionaires the fucking popsicles are none of your fuckin business

Is there ever going to be an interviewer who pushes back and tells him that immigrants seeking asylum is different than insane asylums?
O'DONNELL: Are we going to war against Venezuela?

TRUMP: I doubt it. They emptied their mental institutions and insane asylums into the United States of America

He has 12 children.
His oldest 4 have accused him and his wife of abuse.

But it's okay. His community will hold him accountable and investigate the matter.

I say this as someone who identifies as Christian, but Christians genuinely are some of the most hypocritical monsters out there.
This guy’s a Christian pastor, in case you think Diocletian didn’t have a point.

He has no problem demeaning me.
He views me as property.
I am imperfect until I make changes that conform to what he wants.
His face doesn't seem to actually fit right on his head.

This is so stupid, I can't even wrap my head around it.

I genuinely don't even know where to begin. This is the kind of tweet you show someone to make them question if they're living in some bizzaro dream. The ones where you "know" everything is wrong, but accept it anyway.

In fact, kill me.
sure, you might not be able to eat or go to the doctor, but check out how nice Trump's new marble shitter is

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Unironically, people admire Elon for the same reason they like Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory.

He's what they think nerds are like. But because he appears smart and is mostly far away from them, he is of no real damage.

When in reality, we would all hate to be in the same building as Sheldon.
It’s so conspicuous and juvenile that Elon Musk’s primary cultural currency is wild misinterpretation of movies from c.1977–2007 and their source material

I read that CEOs tend to be sociopaths. They viewed people in a "lesser" way to be able to climb past them.

To want to be in politics must be more or less the same. To be "good" at it must mean you are the worst.

The best leaders are those that don't want to lead, but step up when they have to.
I just really need Cuomo to eat shit in the mayoral race, I am tired of the worst people in the world running campaigns based on "I'm a horrible person and so are you" and being rewarded for it

I'd like to see that we can be better than that
So here's Andrew Cuomo reacting to Maria Bartiromo wondering if Mamdani will "change the look of New York" and have Muslim women "completely covered up," telling her that Mamdani "doesn't understand New York culture" because he has "dual citizenship" and "he's a citizen of Uganda."

Distancing from toxic beliefs: Fine.
Distancing, ostensibly, due to racism: Not fine.

People can change many things about themselves fairly easily, and for the better. Language? Not so much.

It's totally reasonable and acceptable to not want Vance as a neighbor, and we both speak English!
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

Seeing how r/Halo is reacting to the news of the Halo: Campaign Evolved announcement and recently watching discourse over Z-A after stepping away from MtG discourse...

Fandoms are mistakes.

They have become identity points for people, and people can't navigate those things with grace.

If you go to the Starbucks website, you can browse their menu and find that their most expensive single item drinks are $7.89.

I picked an Iced White Chocolate Mocha because why not?

Let's say you bought 3 of them a day. And each time you tipped to make it an even $10.

Hot Take: I think a lot of pokemon fans today are in denial about them actually hating Pokemon. That or they feel embarrassed about how "uncool" and "childish" it is.

ZA is lots of fun, and if you say so in the right circles you will see people race to the bottom on trying to insult you.

The other week I was attending a presentation party about favorite conspiracy theories. I did the Titanic Switch Theory (I don't believe it, I just think it's funny).

Sure enough, plenty of Titanic conspiracy theories quickly devolve into antisemitism.

Just some weird conspiratorial Godwin's Law.
one of the reasons I don’t really like to get into even silly sounding conspiracy theories is that the answer to “fun conspiracy or antisemitism” is almost always “antisemitism”

it is the ugly ur-conspiracy at the bottom of most of these rabbit holes
Before you start making jokes about this - the reptilian conspiracy theory is deep, rabbit hole-level antisemitism.

Got into a "spirited" conversation with an older woman who dismissed the protest and asked if I wanted an illegal alien stealing my job.

"Billionaires earned their money." was about the funniest thing she said.

At any rate, I wished her a happy Halloween and to enjoy her boogeymen as we got off.

There's this belief on the Right that the Left wants to restrict or control what people can say and do. "Use the right pronouns. You can't say negative things. We must elevate people based on their appearance at the expense of others." Things like that.

They fear "cancel culture".
Mike Johnson: "The last time I checked, Americans have more freedom right now to express themselves and speak their minds after Republicans took over ... it is the Republicans who restored your right to share and speak your mind."

It is genuinely hilarious. This is the sort of nonsense I would expect to hear in some political comedy. In a background event of a sitcom.

"Sure sucks to live in that world. Good thing it's fiction." We all laugh. "That President sure is awful."

"I hope the series finale is good and cathartic."
That’s $5 billion more than the entire annual USAID budget. All to one country. To rescue one friend of the president’s.
Trump found another $20 BILLION to give to Argentina, totaling their bailout to $40 BILLION.

Yet we can’t afford to prevent millions of Americans from losing their healthcare.

Shame.
