I think what drives me most nuts about Shildt is that he’s playing into the old-school baseball stereotypes that should’ve been dead and buried long ago. The type of mindset where “batting average” is king, and superficial lefty-righty-lefty-righty batting order matchups are an unimpeachable truth.
