Hosted a second (of 2) Worlds prep money drafts last night for the locals who were qualified. With over half the table heading to Washington at the end of the week, it was a tough pod full of ringers. My favourite!

7-0 in to top 500 mythic with busted UB. Very spell heavy and wanted some extra blockers so decided to play the Flexible waterbender (again) and Canyon crawler. Maybe the Lost days is enough rectangles that I was still supposed to play second Rivier Spirit, not sure tbh.

This one was pretty lucky to trophy. Deck was ok (had a much better UR deck go 1-3 end of last week) but the instant speed package is powerful if things line up right. Deserter's Disciple and Flexible Waterbender were both overperformers, both separately and especailly together!

I will say this trophy took a heck of a lot longer than the Red ones! Merchant of Many Hats was a major overperformer both as a speed bump and an engine with Professor Zei or Agna Qel'a. Also had a couple Prof Zei lethals targeting Ozai's Cruelty, fun deck.

I will say this trophy took a heck of a lot longer than the Red ones! Merchant of Many Hats was a major overperformer both as a speed bump and an engine with Professor Zei or Agna Qel'a. Also had a couple Prof Zei lethals targeting Ozai's Cruelty, fun deck.

Eventually the tables will stop letting me wheel cadets, until then I expect more red decks.

7-1 with another red deck, though I think I was supposed to leave Iroh in the sb here. Was killing before he mattered every game, and discarded him pretty much every time I drew him.

Apparently the secret to trophying with UG is not to draft any interaction and try to beat down...
Hard carried by the rares here though, didn't win any games without them. Secret tunnel being the MVP among them

The green bite/fight spells have impressed so far. Being able to efficiently deal with things the turn they come down without needing to worry about them attacking has been important. Iroh clutch for a comeback win for the trophy.

Tried a few UG decks and can't get them to quite work, and then immediately trophied with this. Might be one of those "we need to wait until week 3 for things to settle down a bit" cases.

While waiting for TLA to return, a quick NEO Rw trophy in my second favourite set of all time. Games were great, so many decisions every turn and ways to spend your mana. Tempted to break my "never doing a direct" rule...

Third straight 5-0 for a perfect 15-0 run today, and that's all I'm going to have time for. Got to play all 5 colours across the 3 decks, and although ops aren't playing perfectly on day -5, a good sign that a mix of stuff seems to be winning.

Make that 10-0 on the day (another 5-0) with Gr earthbending allies. Obviously it's fun to win, but good grief does it feel like there's a lot of things you can do so far and I am having a blast. Rockalanche is insane with this many forests btw

5-0 in first draft of the format (stopping at 5 for EA drafts) with UB mostly due to knowing what the cards do. The gators were great despite 9 swamps, really looking forward to the tension in drafting/building with these

After losing 4 trophy DSK matches in a row (from a 6-0 then a 6-2), rallied back from a 1-2 start here to claim a final one before they switch to MH3. Sometimes when you go back to a format it disappoints, but not at all here. Even the aggro decks are a blast to play, love it.

With SPM tanking and everyone (including me) done with the set, no coincidence that first FIN then my alltime fave DSK make their comebacks. Already had more interesting games in this one DSK run than in any SPM draft.

After drafting a bit of everything week 1, I'm now in a UB phase with 4 of my last 5 drafts being UB(w). Not sure if this means the Arena player base has figured out GW now, but I enjoy decks like this and am not complaining!

Slowed down on the OM1 drafts but still jamming from time to time. UB seems to be open more and more, though it took a while for me to find my way here after a UW start.

Fresh format is the best time to post content, and thankfully I've had content aplenty with an unsustainable hot streak to kick things off. The change to pick 2 has felt novel, and I'm happy to do it for a brief change, but still like normal draft better overall.

Another sweet deck, this time losing only to the literal mirror (another GW with Verilax!) and they had the trump with the menace-giving land. With effectively 18 white sources (plus some redraws) the Verilaxs were always castable.
