it's also very impressive bc it beats the 5-star minimums by several percent in each category; the Renault 5 is bare minimum 5-star except for missing ADAS by 2%
all the other competitors get 4 stars or much worse, the Mini Cooper E is the only one that definitively beats it in the class

I forsee the American Huge Expensive 3-row EV being replaced by the Chinese Huge Slightly Cheaper 3-row EREV. There were a ton of them released in China this year, and several more launching by end of year.
At least in China, all of them have ~100mi+ real world range and home charging is easy.

Yup, the Maverick and Bronco Sport share the Escape's platform. My understanding is that all the reliability issues are software related. The 2.5L engine is old, cheap to run and proven reliable from the 2nd gen Escape, and the planetary eCVT is the best in the business. Don't buy the gas versions.
