Equating binary gender with morality is a bizarre and insidious form of gender essentialism that is both widespread and mostly tolerated even amongst progressives
I've been trying to think of a way to word this.
We really, really need to understand that 'men are inherently evil and women are inherently good' is a position that gives men permission to not do better, and lets them off easy.
And we really need to understand that women can be abusers too.
