I think this is a really bad proposal, but it’s come about because the current division system & associated scheduling is not fit for purpose

women's sports are thriving and growing in every possible way—participation, fandom, financial support, etc. the only actual existential threat to them I can think of is "Republicans saying we need to ban them after falsely claiming they are overrun by trans athletes"

Even in terms of TOP, yards/play and total yards. Plus eagles got the fumble luck. Could argue if Rozeboom knew how to take a pursuit angle Rams win going away.

Couldn’t get past this sentence without furiously nodding in agreement: “We do ourselves an enormous disservice by focusing on the word “valuable” in the MVP award.”

The 4 team divisions are the problem. You’re never going to get even levels of quality between divisions that way. It’s obviously not ‘fair’ that (e.g.) the chargers have to be better than the chiefs over the course of the season to get a home playoff game, and the whole AFC south sucks most years
