From my imagination, dreams, history, current events, and from the stories of past and present. And rarely from an epiphany.

Finding the right/accurate word to fit the description, narrative, scenery, characterization, etc. I die internally of shame when using the wrong word, or when I can't find the right word.

One of my Fav characters is Harris "Dash" Hardeen (a detective, illusionist, & escape artist). Brilliant, fun and witty, with a sad past (losing his wife and child). His archenemy is Doyle Leckie, a spiritualist cult leader & criminal mastermind.

Originally a plotter. Now I think I'm a plantser. I like to organically think and grow my world and story as time goes by.

In my room, where I feel more calm and collected. Not to mention my room is cozy and has almost everything I need. It also gives me more privacy. I just have to remember not sit for too long or else I get numb 😏😆

Good advice: think of your characters as people first, regardless of their identity. And don't worry if your story has already been told. All stories share the same bones, you just give it different flesh.

I love reading & writing fantasy. But I have ambition to be a multi-genre writer. I don't always like sticking to one genre.

Apart from laptop-based tools, and my phone where I take notes when I have ideas when I'm not writing, nothing much else. But lots of energy and patience which is no easy feat for a AuDHD/Neurodivergent writer like myself 🤣😅😢
But I think my greatest tool is my imagination.

Mercer Mayer's East to the Sun/West to the Moon.
The colors drew me in to the world of the fairy tale. But what really draws me in is the imagery of the Heroine questing for her loved one. I see her struggling but bravely determined to accomplish her quest.

First, I was a paracosmist, a worldbuilder, which eventually led to storytelling. I originally wanted to be an artist, but it didn't work out so well. I believe it started in the early-to-mid 2000s, when I learned how to use a computer. And the rest is a blur to me.

Once there was a mother and her son, & they loved each other dearly. As soon as he came of age, the man got married, and by village custom, she must move in to her husband's house. But the wife was proud & hated the mom.

Amnos, the Messianic Animal God of Nequinum. Strongly inspired by Aslan, but not exlcusively a Christ figure. He has a bit of Mithras, Persephone (dies in winter, resurrects in spring, restoring the fertility of the land), and some other savior/dying-&-rising deities.

Plans for next month? Well, as a AuADHD writer, I always come up with something new, much to my frustration at not finishing my main WIP
But next month is gonna be something. I have familial birthdays coming up, among other celebrations.... and hopefully lots of cash 🤞😆

Hopefully for a deeper love of fantasy, not for one specific group but for everyone. With a sense of wonder to reawaken them and an escape from the doldrums of reality. To give them the strength to brave this world.

Well, my MC is trapped in a Haunted House (along with several others), and she's trying to survive the ordeal until dawn. Its a harrowing experience for her.

Culturally, Nequinum is quasi-medieval. Like Narnia & Middle-earth, there's no organized/formal religion, but strong spirituality with deities, shrines, sacred groves, incense, libations, festivals, fetes, etc. 1/2
