Well done Hazel Allardyce on a fantastic talk about her work on blood vessels in #MNDs at the @mndscotland.bsky.social #LEARN event at Pittodrie stadium today. It was great to meet and talk with families affected by MNDs (just a shame I forgot to take a photo!)

I vividly remember buying this Górecki CD on Naxos as a student when it came out in the mid 90s. I was haunted by it then, and remain haunted by it now. The messages contained within seem more important than ever. open.spotify.com/track/1xJIlh...

We got here in the end. Great news for newborns in Scotland, and that's said by a Yorkshireman
It feels like a long time since we published this paper calling for NBS in Scotland, but it has been a monumental effort from so many people behind the scenes to make this become a reality. Huge congratulations to everyone who has contributed to the effort 💪 journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

Proteomic analyses implicated the CCL2-CCR2 axis as a major driving factor of immune cell infiltration, with CCL2+ cells enriched around NMJs. Excitingly, local treatment with CCL2-neutralising antibodies was sufficient to reduce leukocyte infiltration and ameliorate NMJ denervation.
