For the first time in EU history, someone faces criminal charges for organising a Pride march.
Géza Buzás-Hábel, a teacher and organiser of Pécs Pride in Hungary, could be jailed for up to a year, simply for leading a peaceful march for equality. 🧵

All the evidence shows that transphobes are actually a minority, as with most form of bigots.
Problem is they are a very vocal minority and because of that are taken as the "voice of the people". Make your voice heard against them👇

I’ve just followed @sanjeevbhaskar.bsky.social because I’m pretty sure he was wearing a #chooselove t-shirt under his blazer on last week’s taskmaster. Also, historically and currently, he is brilliant.

Things you don’t get to choose; Sexuality, gender, ethnicity, disability, mental/physical health, religion you’re born into.

Things you do get to choose; Whether or not to be an arsehole to someone about any of these things.

One of the worst features of the 21st century discourse is the "complex problems require complicated solutions" trope. The solutions are generally, at heart, simple. Carrying them through tends to require strategy, planning, leadership, advocacy, persistence, resources. Oh, and courage.

I’m so sick of being sick.

People can’t understand the unrelenting nature of chronic illness. They think we can get “better” if we just try harder.

The reality is you have good days and bad… but you’re sick every day.

Exhausted. In pain. Battling.

It can really wear a person down.

Solidarity with Laura. Like transphobia, racism is the new excuse to abuse women who don’t bend to white supremacist patriarchy. And all in the name of *checks notes* “protecting women”. Racist men are dangerous to us all.
I've probably faced more abuse this week than I have covering any other story.

Lots about me being a traitor etc but probably most seriously, threatening messages. You'll get what's coming, we're coming for you etc, from the men "defending women and girls". You have to laugh

I cannot express in words how tired I am of those attempting to justify Labour's official position against marginalised groups, e.g trans and non-binary individuals and migrants, who claim to be "progressive". You aren't. Denying rights is denying rights, no matter the language you wrap it up on.
