Official account of the 76th Governor of North Carolina.
The number one priority of the state is to keep people safe. Local law enforcement will continue to do that long after federal agents go on to the next place.

Renew NC is making progress to welcome families back home after Hurricane Helene’s devastation. I was honored to meet with a homeowner in Fairview whose new home is now complete.

I will continue to stay in touch with local and state officials to keep North Carolina safe.

Scout Motors is revitalizing an iconic American car brand with its HQ right here in North Carolina, bringing $207 million worth of investments that will produce more than 1,200 new jobs in the state.

Welcome to Charlotte! And welcome to North Carolina!

Toyota’s new battery plant represents a $13.9 billion investment that will create 5,100 jobs in North Carolina. It’s the largest corporate investment in state history.

Like all food banks across North Carolina, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves as a critical backstop preventing people from going hungry. It was a pleasure to spend part of Veterans Day volunteering in Raleigh with Lt. Governor Hunt.

We are proud to be home to more than 600,000 veterans.

I will continue to fight for veteran health care, housing, and economic opportunity so that North Carolina can be the most military-friendly state in the country.
November 11, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Every veteran who calls North Carolina home is an essential part of the fabric of our state.

North Carolina is facing a health care crisis, and WakeMed’s new Whole Health Campus couldn’t come at a better time. We need real investment in mental health to keep people safe and healthy. Facilities like these across the state will help us achieve that goal.

Last week, I met with dozens of companies in Japan, and I am excited for more North Carolina jobs ahead.

I joined advocates in Greensboro to talk about the $6.5 billion in medical debt we’ve cleared for 2.5 million North Carolinians.

The burden of medical debt keeps so many North Carolina families from financial security and emotional and physical well-being.

I look forward to seeing the work of the North Carolina AI Leadership Council to help the state think through the challenges and opportunities.

Millions of Americans, including 1.4 million North Carolinians, rely on SNAP benefits to put food on the table. I’ll continue to do everything in my power to keep families fed, but the Administration needs to release these critical funds.
November 4, 2025 at 8:50 PM
I am grateful to the partners who have stepped up to help keep North Carolina families fed by donating $8 million in total. I hope other organizations will step up in this time of need.

To all the ghouls and goblins across North Carolina trick-or-treating tonight, have fun and be safe.

Happy Halloween!

We’ve made some progress this year in streamlining the job application process for civil service jobs in North Carolina. But it’s still frightening to see 20 percent of state positions vacant because we do not pay our public servants enough to recruit and retain the best talent.

The buildings where we send our kids to school shouldn’t be scary. That’s why my budget proposed investments in repairing, modernizing, and building new public schools to meet the state’s growing population.
October 31, 2025 at 8:29 PM
My budget proposal to the General Assembly called for the funding of 330 new school nurse, counselor, social worker, and psychologist positions, along with salary increases for school psychologists.
October 31, 2025 at 6:07 PM
North Carolina has 900 critical care beds available in mental health facilities across the state, but 350 of them are out of commission because we cannot recruit enough staff to care for the patients.
October 31, 2025 at 4:41 PM
The impending fiscal cliff North Carolina faces should haunt the General Assembly.
October 31, 2025 at 3:28 PM
It’s very spooky that North Carolina is just one of two states in the country without a budget for the current fiscal year.

I’ve spent a productive week in Japan meeting with dozens of business leaders, government officials, and even a few North Carolinians. Our delegation is focused on recruiting more businesses and bringing more good-paying jobs to North Carolina.
