Great to be on BBC Radio 4 this week talking global Gen Z protests —
"Protesters have looked to Nepal as a source of inspiration and other protests have used cultural cues to show they are in solidarity."

Delighted to speak on @channel4news.bsky.social yesterday about social media, Nepal, and the ongoing protests -
"The frustration with corruption in the former government [of Nepal] has been there for sometime. The social media ban was the straw that broke the camel’s back."

At yesterday’s London Conference with @chathamhouse.org — the hottest day of the year but such a great event with so many brilliant attendees from all over the world. I love the people I work with and the events I get to go to. 🌞🌞🌞

ICYMI: Here’s my expert comment for @chathamhouse.org on why the X lawsuit against the Indian govt matters and why it’s so unusual. Regardless of the outcome, one to watch.
Give it a read! 📝🇮🇳

Great piece from my friend Tom Brookes (formerly of @teamlabouruk.bsky.social ) on how there’s no magic potion or technological fix to win or lose elections -

The Democrats don’t need a magic potion
This week’s win in Wisconsin is a reminder that strategy and message matter most

The genuine question I have whenever I see Trump’s new manoeuvres (if they can be called that) — where is the Democratic Party, and what are they doing??

Audrey Tang @audreyt.org (in conversation with @ginasue.bsky.social) is genuinely one of the coolest, cleverest, most engaged and engaging speakers I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Feel v lucky to have been in this room.

Genuinely the hardest part about writing a book is opening the document. And not because the rest of writing is easy, just because it’s so hard to convince myself to open the document

I’m currently writing a book about India and technology and stories and society, which is both personal and (I hope!) informative! Would love any offbeat or interesting reading recs anyone has on anything related to these topics— from novels to non fiction. I am (always) all ears 👂 📚

This period till just after New Year’s is another example of a lawless time. You can message anyone anything at any time (as long as it’s good vibes). You can eat and drink whenever. You can text your high school crush for the first time in a decade. go for it

Genuinely had no idea about this!
Friends don’t let friends write for the Conversation! (Not least because they will take your unpaid contribution and franchise it out to the Daily Mail.)
Every time you share a "The Conversation" post I want to remind you that they have a multi-million dollar annual budget and pay writers zero dollars, including adjuncts and grad students. We cannot rely on exploited labor to achieve a better public humanities.

The airport is a lawless place where there are no food rules and no calorie discussion. Have a beer at 11am. Get a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. Anything goes
