My colleagues and I are building a system to collect citizen data that is under their own control but which can be used in aggregate (anonymously) to answer research questions.

That sounds so clunky! 😅
We are not marketing people. But we think it is an incredibly important issue.

I am not sure why people are so upset about this?

Yep blue ticks became an upsell on Twitter but this is not paid here.

And previously it was seen as a gate keeping function for people in the know. But with multiple verifiers that should also be mitigated surely.

Anything I am missing?

We’re introducing a new layer of verification on Bluesky — a user-friendly, easily recognizable blue check.

In addition to account verification issued by Bluesky, we're also introducing Trusted Verifiers. Select independent organizations can verify accounts directly.

This is an article about this phenomenon in energy prices. But this may be a good place to base a discussion. Very interested to hear opinions which diverge from my own. ✊

Is it possible to have a modal alert when there is a new update on iOS? 🙏

We have had to introduce that for our app as iOS does not auto update. The AppStore also has a bug where it doesn’t show an update available unless you specifically open the Bluesky page in the AppStore.

Nodding at a lot of this piece. We set out to change tech, and tech changed us instead.

I can't help but wonder if things would have shook out differently if design was more codified (like trades, licensing like with architecture, unions, etc).

In the next few months I hope to chat more about the work we are doing with patient-owned data and how it can change how medical care is delivered.

I would love to connect with others interested in medical data, engineering and new models of care.

I think I am going to try to stick to only Bluesky for a while.

I am not a big poster. I often get the wrong end of the stick. Apologies in advance for that.

But watching this place over the last year it seems like the closest to digital detox without having to give up the digital 😅🙏

I used this to set it up: https://github.com/jcsalterego/Contrails If you know your way around web development it’s a breeze, if not, I’m happy to set it up for you. It will probably take me literally less than five minutes.

In case it is of use, I made a quick guide to setting up a subdomain and using it as your Bluesky handle.

Hopefully no errors. 🙏

Sorted.
Managed to set up my username as a subdomain of the company site. This won’t be useful for every company but in case I will write a quick Substack article and share.

To kick things off I had a question. Not sure if anyone will actual see this though.

Does anyone know if you can set up a handle like @navin.mydomain.com if you own mydomain.com (rather than @mydomain.com as explained in most articles)

Thanks all.

Hello Bluesky!
Not sure what to say for the first post without sounding too thirsty 😂

Loving the pleasant atmosphere here so far. I hope it stays like this 🙏

Thanks @schpoopel.bsky.social for the invite.
