I'll give you one guess when my brief was originally due.
On November 12, 2025, the President signed H.R. 5371, a Continuing Resolution that funds the federal government through January 30, 2026. Accordingly, the court resets, as follows, the non-jurisdictional filing deadlines for federally funded attorneys (including FPDs and CJA counsel), in cases not currently calendared before a panel: • Any filing due on or after November 24, 2025, remains as currently scheduled. • Any filing that was due between October 1 and October 10, 2025, is now due December 3, 2025. • Any filing that was due between October 11 and October 20, 2025, is now due December 10, 2025. • Any filing that was due between October 21 and November 1, 2025, is now due December 17, 2025. • Any filing that was due between November 2 and November 12, 2025, is now due December 23, 2025. • Any filing that was due between November 13 and November 21, 2025, is now due January 2, 2026.

2.030 MATTERS UNDER ADVISEMENT MORE THAN 60 DAYS (1) If any judge shall have any matter under advisement for a period of more than 60 days, it shall be the duty of all parties to call the matter to the court’s attention forthwith, in writing. (2) If the matter remains under advisement for 90 days, all parties are required again to call the matter to the judge’s attention forthwith, in writing, with copies to the presiding judge, if any, and the Chief Justice.

The Guideline F facts also are not severe enough to be grounds for denial. According to security clearance expert Brad Moss, current industry practice suggests that denial based on student loan debt under Guideline F is rare except in extreme circumstances.

I’m going to tell you a story about my name. My name is Saoirse, or Sorsie, or Swerza. Don’t worry, I have heard them all. In fact, before I was born, my grandfather said he would give 10 dollars to anyone who could spell my name. And no one got it right. The reason I tell you this is because I like my name, but it hasn’t always been easy. Saoirse means freedom in Ireland. Ireland is where leprechauns and Saint Patrick’s Day are from. So I think it’s a pretty lucky name. And I think I would be very lucky to have the chance to speak for this class in Student Council. And I would work as hard to do the job right as people have to work to get my name right. (stage whisper) It’s Saoirse by the way.
