NHAHC Board Members & LLC Interns are on the Hill today to discuss the importance of HOPWA & housing programs with their elected reps. These programs reduce homelessness and help to end the HIV epidemic in our communities.

NHAHC is in ATL for the ribbon-cutting of a new housing complex that will house 18 households, all of them headed by ppl living w/HIV. This is just 1 example of HOPWA in action!

Congrats to Status: Home and many thanks to Mayor @andreforatlanta.com for demonstrating community-centered leadership.

There are now 70 signers of the HOPWA FY 26 House Support Letter! This is a direct result of people-powered advocacy💪

May 20th is the deadline. We need many more Reps from both parties to commit their support to housing for people w HIV. ☎️ your Rep and ask them to sign on: usa.gov/elected-officials

The "skinny" budget released last week had alarming proposed changes for HOPWA + other housing programs:

✂ Consolidate HOPWA into the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) program, making HOPWA a short-term housing program

✂ Cap eligibility for beneficiaries at 2 years

✂ Significantly ⬇️ funding levels
