By editing Trump's comments in a deliberately dishonest way, some staff at the BBC did real damage to the political struggle against Trumpism. The only course of action with a chance of political success involves defending the truth without exception.

The booing of Trump at the NFL game is just remarkable. It's sustained and very loud, with no hint of any cheering in response. At an NFL game. Is he listening yet? No, of course he isn't.

Michael Bloomberg spent more than NZD$14m on the anti-Mamdani campaign. And Bloomberg was just one of the wealthy donors. They tried to buy the election, on a staggering scale. And they failed.

Zohran Mamdani aims merely to reduce somewhat the extreme inequality that blights US society today, particularly in places like New York. The right-wing hysteria about him shows how coddled the US ruling class has become in a system rigged to benefit them at every turn. 🧵

The reported massacre of hundreds of civilians at a maternity hospital in El-Fasher, Sudan, ranks as one of the very worst atrocities in recent times. It is grimly reminiscent of the actions of the Khmer Rouge upon seizing control of Cambodia's cities.
