Yesterday, I had the privilege to witness my friend Jess do her maiden speech in parliament. Go watch it if you haven't already, it's such an inspiring and compassionate speech that made me feel very emotional. It was an overall amazing day in parliament. Congratulations, @jessteesdale.bsky.social!!

Watching @alifrance.bsky.social's maiden speech has me emotionally devastated. It makes me feel so proud of who we are as the Labor movement. #auspol

The coincidences you encounter while planning trips!

Because I'm in Melbourne for the day and both my parents are driving to Launceston from Brisbane, my dad can't handle taking the boat so he flew over the strait. We had a brief meet-up while he waited for his flight. It was good to see my dad!

I have a flight to catch early tomorrow morning, but I'm too distracted with trying to troll myself on Facebook...

I have a bit of a hectic week coming up next week, with everyone going to the polls and my work/social lives getting more and more busy.

Today, I am finally taking a day off from both work and campaigning to relax and enjoy a beautiful Saturday morning here in Launceston. I've needed this 🥰

It's a good day to doorknock for this absolute legend 🥰

Working nearly 40 hours over 4 days straight was exhausting. I am just relieved to be able to head into bed, drink a sleepy tea, indulge in some good chocolate and enjoy knowing that I am not working again until Monday next week. 😌

Pretty proud of what I cooked up for dinner tonight - I've been working unusually long days since Monday (tomorrow will be the last day I work for this week!) and needed a good dinner to reward myself for the long hours I've pulled off. Pork chop, fried broccolini and chippies. Tasted amazing 🥰

Working 2 jobs and trying to volunteer as much as I can during a snap state election is hard work. Elvis is keeping me very good company during my short break between trying to juggle everything around 🥰

Because Queenslanders take for granted how good state Labor governments are and how vital it is for Labor to be in power. I hope history repeats itself and Queenslanders will vote Labor back in again by 2028...
Queensland politics doesn't make a lot of sense to Australians. We'll put a party into power and almost immediately cut it into pieces.

Why we do this remains a mystery. Perhaps we just love the hunt. Nose to the wind. #qldpol

What an amazing gig from the Bad Dad Orchestra! I am now officially a fan and need to go on a listening binge. It was amazing to jump into my friend Ebony, too!

Thanks @gorex.bsky.social for introducing me to this incredibly sublime band 🥰

Fuck, I hate the Queensland press so much
If ever you wanted to study the complete breakdown of Australian journalism there is no greater era to examine than the Queensland media in the lead up to the 2024 state election. If journalists were true to their profession, how could such BS go on to become premier? #qldpol

Forgot to post these pictures I took on Monday when everything was frosted over. As it was -1c, my walk to work was swift, which wasn't a surprise in that weather 🥶

It was such a pleasure to celebrate Michelle's political career for her farewell party today. I am so excited to see what she does next, outside of politics 🥰 love you to bits @chelobyrne.bsky.social xx

It's a beautiful day to head out to Beauty Point and help out my friend Luke with dropping off some pamphlets!

One of the best premiers Queensland has ever had. I still mourn her loss every once in a while, especially since David Crisafulli got elected...
Annastacia Palaszczuk. Longest serving female premier in both Qld & Aus history.

Granddaughter of Polish refugees escaping Nazis. She becomes one of Australia's great political leaders. She's an icon, she's an Australian Story but journalists never acknowledge her. Why? #qldpol

I always love supporting local theatre productions. Wild Swimming by Marek Horn was terrific! I love how earnest and cheeky the show was, plus the audience participation was pretty cool 🥰
