Happy Birthday, Ambrose Bierce! Born on this day in 1842, he was a Civil War veteran, surveyor, journalist, and one of the greatest wits of all time. His short story, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" is the inspiration for the name of my bookstore @owlcreekbooks.com.
