Why isn't there a "gap year" for adults over 40.
Sunday is the only day we buy coffees instead of making our own. Today we got them from Dunkin—to not cross the line at Starbucks.

Skeletons for #Halloween, from the Nuremberg Chronicle (1493). About the least rare rare book in existence (we have 5 copies) but this one hand-coloured and part of a donation made in 1574 by Elizabeth I's Archbishop of Canterbury Matthew Parker. CUL Inc.0.A.7.2[888].

Saw a "for lease" sign in a vacant shop window, thought it would be a perfect space for my books while renovating our house, and maybe some weekend appointment-only shopping. Was a partner at a mid-size law firm, which dissolved a few months later and allowed me to do both bookstore and law.

One of the best things about being an antiquarian bookseller is rediscovering items you had forgotten about tucked away in your not-yet-listed-for-sale closets. Today's finds are a signed Thomas Hardy first edition three-volume work, and a collection of 57 bookplates (some artist signed).
