Really pleased to share that on Monday I passed my PhD viva 😀 Studying for my PhD has been such a privilege thanks to the support I have had from countless people. Particularly, thanks to the endless support of my supervisors, Alison Browne, @natemillington.bsky.social, and Erik Swyngedouw.

www.nts.live/shows/guests... Really feel like what Chuquimamani-Condori is doing sounds like nothing else. Rural futurism, over-the-top earnestness, power ballads. I love it.

Really good talk today by the Elba Research Collective (eblaresearch.org) on building committees as a response to urban crisis in Beirut. Helpful to think about buildings as spaces of organising in contexts of urban crisis in my own work - repair practices against urban collapse, social and material

Been spending a lot of time reading Elon twitter these days and the way that concerns about downward mobility in the US have mapped on to weird manosphere arguments and anti-immigrant politics is really wild. Young men making 100k a year and choking on resentment about women and immigrants. Ugly.

Fun trail race today on the mersey. Less moody and misty than when I did it three years ago, and happy to have opted for the shorter distance (11k). Not sure December is the season for half marathons.
