A tale of two runs, one much longer, but with way less elevation gain another much shorter, but with five times the elevation gain. Both were heart rate zone targeted runs. Both runs difficult in their own way, but both very rewarding. #running

So the spider kinda froze up, we waited for the bird to pass, and then he finished getting across the road, after I reminded him that I basically saved his life twice.

Getting to the apex had more great views and then some downhill as I got into the red rocks of calico hills. These downhill segments were easier on the cardio but brutal on the quads and knees. #running

Wanted my 100th half-marathon distance run to be special so I chose to run the scenic loop at Red Rock Canyon which is around 13 miles with a LOT of elevation gain/descent. Also set my HR Zone goal to keep me in Z3 or Z2. In a word this was a tough run (the day before I had ran 10miles). #running

I have a cheap $100 telescope thats not made for astrophotography so things look way better with just eyepiece viewing BUT here’s the Moon and Saturn by me just holding my phone up to the eyepiece.
