Trump's 3/27 executive order targets the Smithsonian for advancing "the view that race is not a biological reality but a social construct."

Trump argues that the exhibit's statement, below, is unscientific. He's wrong. As a biology professor and population geneticist, I agree with every word of it.

Because of the way we receive media (in a deluge, in random order, all day long) and the way our brains work (doing constant threat assessment of novel inputs), I find it useful to pause sometimes, take a breath, and check in with myself before saying, as I do now, this is fucking insane.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order promising to eliminate “divisive narratives” from the Smithsonian Institution’s museums and restore “monuments, memorials, statues, markers” that have been removed over the past five years.
