And offshore wind has an incredible capacity factor! Largely negating the whole "well, the wind doesn't always blow" angle.
This should make it plain as day that the actual reason there's a campaign against wind energy is fossil fuel interests.

The fight against offshore wind is one of the most insane things I think I've ever seen. Untapped clean energy just blowing around, out in a useless nowhere.
Trump: There's an energy emergency! We're producing more oil & gas than ever & drillers don't want to drill more. Meanwhile, we're experiencing rapid electricity demand growth. A crisis! So... Let's block the cheapest, fastest way to add new electricity supply to US grids (wind, solar, batteries).🤔🤷♂️
