2025 was good. i learned a lot as a game developer which im very proud of and got to work on a ton of projects, so despite being jobless, i shouldnt take away any credit for my hard work. hopefully for some of these projects i get to "finish" them in 2026 and move on to explore and make new games :]

how do gamedevs handle working on multiple projects cuz theres a lot of stuff i wanna do and experiment with but i feel like im already so busy with my current projects and i dont want to drop them because i did work for them so id rather see them finished yknow... or is that just normal

playing pokemon emerald for the first time and why are the pokemon contests so addicting like i was ready to just not finish the game just to get my sharpedo every ribbon but these contests are rigged as hell

If you’re doing your work properly, you’ll do it at least 2.5 times.
The first time you build a document, project, character, sound, whatever it may be, it won’t be great. You’ll probably restart from scratch.
The second version, it’s better, but you have to re-iterate half of it.

Good news! The Destiny Spire demo is almost ready. We’ve gone through a few rounds of testing looking for bugs but it’s looking good at this point! Few small things to add and we’re working on a new trailer and updating the steam page 👇

Wanted to show off my Godot pipeline for authoring in-game photos for Penguin Festival (the kinds you'd find in NPC homes). A runtime utility does posing + effects and sends a texture to the project. Then I use an editor utility for framing and hanging.

thats honestly why i felt iffy about "portfolio pieces" bc at least for me as a level designer, making a stand alone level doesnt feel too good..? i would like to make a game at that point so i opted to do that instead but it kind of lead to the same problem of working on my portfolio forever

honestly what ive learned is that if u wanna make your own solo game or an indie game with a small group its gonna take over a year whether u like it or not. doesnt matter what the constraints are, or the genre, or style. get ready to work on it for more than a year

im taking a level design bootcamp atm and its given me so much confidence as a dev like maybe i AM the goat and linkedin IS full of lies but its also nice to be surrounded by other level designers to talk about level design and playtest each others work
