5. Aren’t we better off to simply acknowledge that ALL THREE branches of government are filled with people who are doing their best with a finite bag of skills? That they get it wrong no more or less often than any of the rest of us do, and that the protection comes from Constitutional checks?

9. The promise of democracy is that it will fix mistakes. The threat of autocracy is that it sets those mistakes in stone. And we would all be better off with a SCOTUS that embraced the former rather than praising the latter. /fin
