Or, a lot of times, maybe just ∅, aka there are no good options ;) Or similarly ∄.

commonly forget to account for.
Lots of possibilities in statistics, incl. for humour. P(A|B), where A is the optimal choice, and B is whether you've had your coffee yet. σ for your varying decision quality. μ ± 3σ for that 0,3% chance you'll make some crazy outlier decision.

Or if you want to stick with math, maybe the dirac delta function (δ): infinitely good if you choose the right point, otherwise completely wrong.
Calculus generally gives good possibilities. ∂/∂x for when you're ignoring a lot of the problem. ∫ f(x) dx + C where C is what you don't know and ...

This isn't exactly brain surgery, yet every time there's a salient at risk of being encircled in Ukraine I see these exact same two groups sniping at the Ukrainian military leadership making precisely inverse demands with the same panicked tone.
Let them do their jobs.

* If you pull out everyone too soon every time a salient runs any risk of encirclement, the enemy can advance too quickly through your territory. You must accept some risk.
*If you maintain force densities as a salient becomes encircled, you risk pockets and mass casualties / surrender.

I don't know why this is difficult for people who see fit to comment on the status at the front, but:
As a salient slowly starts to get encircled, you first start pulling out the most valuable equipment, and so on down the chain, then slowly reduce density, until the final few run the gauntlet.

I had Claude pick between all possible pairs of these six tasks, including both orderings for each pair, here's the proportion each of them was chosen across all comparisons. These preferences seem to be transitive, a task with a higher score tied or beat one with a lower total score in all cases.

"Simple statistics" is knowing that what you wrote applies in reverse as well: the more ingredients something has, the more likely it has something good to *raise* the average. A spread that's just butter? Not great. A spread that's butter mixed with olive, walnut, flaxssed, and hemp oil? Better.

Meanwhile, cake isn't ultraprocessed. A giant mug of frosting isn't ultraprocessed. Swigging molten coconut oil down your gullet isn't ultraprocessed.
It's a stupid classification scheme. And it's not just me saying that.

No. If it contains whey protein and at least 4 other ingredients, it is ultraprocessed, under the NOVA classification.
Essentially every bagged whole wheat bread on store shelves is ultraprocessed, because bread cannot last long enough without preservatives.
And they're *still healthy foods*.
