In light of Mamdani's performance, is astonishing there aren't more insurgent primary campaigns. Democratic establishment is discredited. Power is just sitting there like a mountain of gold but instead of being guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, it's fossils like Chuck Schumer

Whatever genuine use cases there might be for machine learning, VC-funded AI is entirely about removing the need to think, grow, change, develop skills, or connect with another human person. They are programs designed only to stunt and arrest development
The ad for this product is a guy on a date taking all his cues from lines generated from his AI program

While I get that the premise is "this will help you get laid" it makes me feel despair that the joy of going on a date for these people isn't cultivating a space of intersubjectivity w/ the other

NEW: An obscure bureaucratic list gave East Timor its own internet domain name. Activists grabbed the chance to declare independence — and provoked the very first cyberwar. Jacob Judah tells the story for @newlinesmag.bsky.social.

Josh Shapiro called the McDonald’s employee who reported Luigi Mangione a “hero.”

She will NOT get the $10,000 reward money because she called 911 instead of the tip line.

By the way, Josh Shapiro got $15,000 in donations from United Healthcare last year.

Numbers are fun.

If someone's primary function as a leftist is curation -- dividing leftists whose politics are good enough from those who should be condemned for their insufficiencies -- plz understand, that's brand work. That's not organizing. It's not building anything. Those people aren't offering you anything.
