It’s not the hiring standards that has brought ATC staffing to its lowest levels in decades. It’s the combo of the following:
1. Lack of educating the public of what we do and the opportunities in a career
2. The increasing wage gap in the industry, as pilots are making on average almost double

This is getting fewer headlines than it should. After coming to power promising to help working people, the president is revealing his real priorities by actively making it easier for banks to rip people off.
I mean, I guess this was a good way to get #SignalGate out of the news cycle… but Jesus H. Christ this market crash is looking way worse.
Best case scenario now is a GOP bloodbath for 2026 midterms, but who knows if we will still have real elections by then.
